Clay and Cherokee Counties, North Carolina

In early May, I travelled to visit my nephew, Dr. Greg Cranford, who is a veterinarian serving westernmost North Carolina. He lives in the metropolis of Brasstown, near Murphy. Brasstown is the home of the Possum Drop, which happens each New Year's Eve at Clay's Corner. As a result, Brasstown is widely known as the Possum Capital of the World. Greg was nice enough to drive me around Clay and Cherokee Counties for two days to show me old barns and other sights in this beautiful area.

Hope you enjoy these pictures.
