Fall in the North Carolina Mountains

Joyce and I travelled to the NC mountains in the last week of October 2019 to visit some friends. We hoped we would see some color in the leaves. For the last few years, these visits seemed to always be a little too early or a little too late. But this visit was "just right" in terms of timing.

We stopped in Black Mountain, one of our favorite places, on the way to Waynesville, where we spent two nights at the Waynesville Inn. From there we explored a portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway between its intersection with US 276 and NC 215,. We then took NC 215 to explore the Dupont State Park area. The following day, we explored more around Waynesville before driving to Lake Junaluska and Maggie Valley. This was our first visit to Lake Junaluska, and we were glad we found it on a foggy and later bright morning. I love shooting in the fog.

Hope you enjoy the photos.
