Mt. Rainier National Park

I had the pleasure of spending five days in early August 2016 with my friend and fellow photographer Ron Norman. Ron lives on Whidbey Island, Washington, a beautiful island that lies on the Puget Sound just north of Seattle.

Ron and I spent the first day and a half shooting around Mt. Rainier National Park. What a beautiful area; and, moreover, we were rewarded with outstanding weather and good timing. The wildflowers were at their peak blooming time..

The National Park was founded in 1899 as the 5th US National Park. Mt. Rainier is the highest peak in the Cascade Mountains, rising to 14,411 feet. It is an active volcano, and the most glaciated mountain in the contiguous US. The park covers 370 square miles and includes 25 glaciers. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Rainier_National_Park

I hope you enjoy this photo tour.
